Creative experience

In the summer of 2011, a chance once again triggered my enthusiasm and passion for sculpture creation.
 
When I came back to the classroom again with a feeling of expectation and perplexity, I listened to the unfamiliar words that I seldom touched or even paid attention to in my original creation, and tasted the teacher's interpretation of the concept and works of abstract sculpture, and my desire for creation became stronger and stronger. Concept, space, hint, sense of concept And so on, all the time in this half month's theoretical course study, we have received professional basic education in sculpture, and have deep learning experience and creative experience of traditional Chinese art to pull us back to the "zero" starting point. Under the educational system of China's colleges and universities, the study and creation of abstract sculpture are beyond the reach of normal sculpture teaching.
 
My major is a small branch of sculpture - Metal Technology (commonly known as forging copper technology). From the 1998 "the creation of fire and force" art exhibition of printing duckweed forging copper, the creation style and language of more than ten years have not left the tradition, the sense of decoration and the beauty of form. The traditional creative ideas make the works pay more attention to inheritance and pay attention to the form. Works with such symbols appear everywhere in my creation. It can't be said that such works can not convey profound ideological connotation 。 Many of my works have been well received by peers, media and audiences. However, it is necessary to have a breakthrough and have a new creative direction. Where is this sense of direction?
 
This learning opportunity of abstract sculpture makes me reexamine the past creative road, and I am lucky to get involved in the field of abstract sculpture, which also makes me think more carefully about how artists express an idea with their works, and the importance of using materials while expressing this concept. In the process of my series of works "the world of Great Harmony" from the conception to the completion, I experienced a baptism of blood and fire. It is the collision between the soul and the flesh, which is the interpretation of self artistic concept and the tremor in the heart.
 
Due to the ignorance of abstract sculpture at the beginning, the initial creation was extremely difficult and painful. The starting point could not be found. The design draft was rejected several times, either the concept was vague or the design idea was not in place, and the idea of coming down was more and more confused. The original idea was to find some inspiration from the ancient locks. The theme of Billie's creation was "interlock", which was another way of creation that I had never touched upon. It required the works to have relevance, sense of concept and spatial relationship,
This is a brand-new concept. I think that the structure, shape and space of the traditional locks are just in line with this creative theme. Next, how to express this idea in an abstract way? Billy suggested that I go to the lock shop to find inspiration. I was in a fog! What to do? Give up! The next idea is based on the previous scheme, China knot? Good theme! After the draft was shown to Billy, he felt that he had made progress on the physical structure and should continue to complete it. Alas! After thinking about a few deepening plans, they were not very ideal and gave up again
 
Give up, give up Give up again and again at the same time, also forced himself to a desperate situation, at this time Billy's words let me have a goal. "Use foam board to make small samples, and then enlarge the production to the factory. In this creative process, you can first have ideas, that is, ideas, then consider the use of materials; and the other is to have materials first, and to excavate your ideas and ideas on the basis of materials." This is a very good two prescription, simply under the premise of immature ideas, choose to deepen the material step by step, so that we have the original idea of a circle.
The works are completed in the sculpture factory in Linqu, Shandong Province. I came to Linqu with initial design ideas and saw that most of the students had entered the production stage of creation. I was very anxious about the late arrival. Just a few days later, I will continue with the design of my circle. If we extend the idea of the circle, we should be able to make a series of works. Under the temptation of this idea, one round cake shaped foam board is born under my hands. The next step is to find the change from the circle. At the beginning, I divide the circle into several different blocks, then put some blocks on the wrong side to seek space changes. For this is just the beginning. Billy teacher gave me a lot of encouragement, thought that my train of thought has taken a big step. It's just like climbing a mountain, when the victory is in front of you, and you are exhausted. Do you want to continue or give up?! At this time, I also fell into the extreme contradiction, which was a process of struggle, and even produced the idea of hunger strike. I firmly believe that "when people are too smooth, the inspiration will be gone.". At this time, Billy's words let me stick to it. He said, "you've reached level seven or eight. Once you give up, you have to start from the beginning. Don't think about anything else. Finish it" made me feel more gratified and increased my self-confidence. On the one hand, he affirmed my idea, on the other hand, he made me understand the importance of persistence. Billy wanted to go back to Beijing. At this time, I thought that I would make use of the four days when Billy was away to finish the sample. When Billy came back, I could directly evaluate my works. What was more, I was looking forward to presenting every satisfactory work and getting Billy's approval.
 
How difficult it is to go up the next step. With the theme of circle, how to find out the change is what I have to search for. If you stack several round individuals like building blocks, under the appearance of unity, each part has its own. I hope my heart will always be like the girl in the photo, full of longing for life, full of youth, and always young.

The human world is a dream paradise filled with love and affection, while people live between love and affection. Without love, there will be no modern civilization; without love, there will be no civilized country. There are relationships between men and women, brothers and sisters, parents and children, classmates, colleagues and friends, love enriches life and love enriches life. ‘Men and women’ is the expression of love, ‘Sisters’ is the interpretation of friendship, ‘Mother and son’ is the narration of family love.

Emotional creative works account for most of my works. Additionally, I have a strong interest in totem and auspicious patterns condensed from traditional culture. From the art of painted pottery 6000 or 7000 years ago, to the art of bronze 3000 or 4000 years ago, to the lacquerware of the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period 2500 years ago, to the stone carvings and cliff paintings in Han tombs, all of them are filled with the original art atmosphere of chaos and mystery, and are full of nature worship, ghost worship, myth and legend, as well as the beautiful ideal of real life It is the expression of the ancestors' emotion. It can be said that the expression of life in traditional culture coincides with my artistic conception of creation, or that I can melt into the atmosphere, breathe, absorb nutrition, and reinterpret the connotation of life with more vivid and symbolic means of expression. His representative works include fish God and chignon doll.

The art of forging copper is my whole life, I will always be close to and feel the copper. I hope that the sound of beating my heart will reverberate in my ears forever, inspire me to move forward forever, and express my feelings, desire and pursuit of life completely and vividly to the audience who like, understand and love this art expression form. In the long years to come, no matter how bumpy and difficult this road is, I believe I will go on firmly and persistently.
